Infinite Learn

Infinite Learn is an AI-enabled learning platform built for experts who want to develop courses in their areas. Course preparation is typically the most onerous part of teaching, but Infinite Learn makes it easy to develop specialized content that can be used in custom courses. The platform supports student enrollment, LMS integration, autograding, multiformat content generation, and end-to-end curriculum development. Brett is the founder and lead developer of the Infinite Learn platform. “Now those who can, teach.”

Scientific Artificial Intelligence Initiative

The Scientific Artificial Intelligence (SAI, pronounced “psi”) Initiative strengthens Notre Dame’s leadership in integrating experimental science, physics-based modeling, and artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies. At the intersection of traditional scientific disciplines and artificial intelligence, SAI cultivates a distinctive research community where domain experts across the College of Engineering and College of Science pioneer approaches that amplify and accelerate scientific discovery.

SAI emphasizes disciplinary leadership, positioning scientists and engineers as equal partners in shaping AI’s role in their fields. Through strategic partnerships and innovative training programs, SAI is cultivating a new generation of scientific leaders who will shape how AI transforms university research.

Useful Chemistry

“Useful Chemistry” helps me navigate the literature. It used to be enough to follow rss feeds of certain journals, but those days have passed. The journals publish too much and the signal for relevance is so diffuse that one needs an algorithm to do some kind of triage. Every Wednesday Useful Chemistry runs a sweep of arXiv, ChemRxiv, and bioRxiv, for papers relevant to ai-enabled methods development for chemistry and materials, runs independent ai assisted assessments, and promotes up to twenty papers that pass the review criteria. Every paper gets a methods and significance focused summary. The project also maintains a roll call of research groups that I try to follow. The algorithm used for the review criteria will evolve with my tastes.

The project was inspired by the “Useful Knowledge” tool by Kevin Bryan (https://www.kevinbryanecon.com/usefulknowledge/).
